The Producers is a 2005 American comedy-musical film starring Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick, Uma Thurman, Gary Beach and Will Ferrell. It is based on the 2001 Broadway musical of the same name and is a remake of the 1968 film of the same name starring Zero Mostel, Gene Wilder, and Andréas Voutsinas. The film is directed by Susan Stroman (the director and choreographer of the original Broadway production). It was produced and distributed domestically by Universal Pictures and distributed overseas by Columbia Pictures.
