With recent developments it appears that loading custom firmware on the PS3 may not be far off. I've collected a few official firmwares that I thought people might want to regress to/use as a basis for CFW.

Included in the Archive:
v2.80 - the last original XMB with the "spiderman" font and original orchestra
v3.15 - last firmware for OtherOS support
v3.21 - the linux killer
v3.41 - firmware compatible with PS jailbreak (don't expect this to be available much longer)

Multi-touch gestures OS-wide.
A few new ways to run applications in the background multitasking.
Many graphical and UI changes to make navigating through the OS easier and more efficient. We haven?t had this broken down, but we can only hope for improved notifications, a refreshed homescreen, etc.

Use ImgBurn or DVDDecrypter, only DVD+R / RW (Verbatim works best!!), change booktype to ROM and try to write on slow speeds, but not neccessarily 2.4X would work and 4X wouldn't, so try different speeds and different media from Verbatim (there are many, Made in Taiwan, India, ...). RNS-E and MMI are the hardest to make, so make sure you have one of proper DVD writers (RENESAS chipset works best - www.videohelp.com)

Using this freeware, you can check the listed cd and dvd readers and writers connected to your computer, check the firmware used. The details about the media used and the speed supported by a given writer with this media.
Also you can scan a burnt media for read errors and be confident about the readibility of your fresh backup.

Apple has released its iPhone OS SDK 3.2 Beta 4 for iPad which follows beta 3 released several weeks ago. The package contains both the latest build of the iPhone OS 3.2 for iPad, and the iPhone SDK 3.2, for iPad development.
There are still no reports of any added features in the beta 4 but as the iPhone OS 3.2 has just been released it will take some time for programmers to go through the update. The pattern of OS release is similar to that of iPhone OS 3.0 and indicates that Apple may release the firmware for new iPad on Saturday, April 3.
