Before the onset of World War II, Germany's planes were far superior to those of the US and the UK. This programme explores how the scientists and engineers improved on technology and helped to defeat Nazi Germany. Using specially commissioned computer graphics, previously unseen archive footage and interviews with aviation experts, this programme brings back to life the Secret Allied planes of the Second World War.

History has overlooked the unimaginable hardships Russian designers faced under the paranoid rule of Josef Stalin. Frequent purges represented a constant threat. Yet, in spite of the ever-present danger, Soviet aircraft designers mastered technical hurdles astonishing even by today's standards. This hour features extensive archive images of never-before-seen aircraft and the designers who brought them to life. As a squadron leader, players can fly up to 39 WWII aircraft in both single-player and multiplayer missions. The game features squadron-based combat, in which each artificial intelligence wingmans specialized skill can be used to the pilots advantage. During the course of the 18-mission campaign, players will evolve along with their wingmen into an ace fighting force.
